Coimbatore, Sep 28: Walkaroo Foundation, the CSR arm of Walkaroo Group, in collaboration with Aravind Eye Hospital, successfully conducted a Free Eye Camp on September 27, 2026, at Panchayat Union Primary School, Malumichampatti, for the benefit of residents of Malumichampatti and surrounding villages.
The camp provided free eye screening, medical consultation, eye examinations, and referrals for further treatment, including cataract surgery for beneficiaries requiring surgical intervention. The medical team from Aravind Eye Hospital conducted comprehensive examinations and provided appropriate medical advice to the participants.
The camp received 325 outpatients, of whom 19 beneficiaries were identified for cataract surgery and referred for further treatment. The identified patients will undergo the necessary surgical procedures at Aravind Eye Hospital. Additionally, 30 beneficiaries were referred for further treatment and medicines were provided to 35 beneficiaries.
The initiative marked the fifth eye camp organised by Walkaroo Foundation in collaboration with Aravind Eye Hospital, strengthening the Foundation’s continued efforts towards improving access to essential healthcare services for communities in and around its operational areas.
The camp was supported by a dedicated team of Walkaroo employees and volunteers who coordinated various activities, including registration, publicity, food and hospitality, safety, housekeeping, photography, and overall event management. Their collective efforts contributed to the smooth and effective conduct of the camp.
Through initiatives such as the eye camp, Walkaroo Foundation continues its commitment to promoting accessible healthcare and the holistic development of communities.
