There are some stories that never quite leave childhood behind. Stories that made an ordinary afternoon feel like an adventure, a bedroom feel like another world, and a simple turn of the page feel like the beginning of something magical. For generations of readers, Enid Blyton’s The Magic Faraway Tree has been one of those stories.

Now, that world is making its way from the pages to the big screen. PVR INOX Pictures today announced that The Magic Faraway Tree, led by Andrew Garfield, will release in cinemas across India on 4th September 2026. Bringing Blyton’s beloved classic to a new generation, with this release, PVRINOX Pictures aims to position The Magic Faraway Tree as the definitive family-watch of the year, a big-screen adventure that lets parents revisit a world they grew up loving while introducing their children to it for the very first time.
Garfield as Tim headlines an ensemble cast that includes Claire Foy, Nonso Anozie as Moonface, Nicola Coughlan as Silky, Emmy and BAFTA winner Jessica Gunning as Dame Washalot, and Jennifer Saunders as Grandma, alongside Rebecca Ferguson as the formidable Dame Snap.
The film follows a modern family who relocate to the countryside, where three children stumble upon an extraordinary discovery - an ancient, towering tree inhabited by a delightful cast of eccentric characters. With every climb, the tree transports them to a brand-new fantastical land, full of surprise, mischief, and magic. As their adventures unfold, the family rediscovers something even more precious than the worlds above the clouds: the joy of connection, imagination and simply being together.
