Mumbai, 29 October: Nishant Mukta, the Patna-born singer and songwriter behind ‘Bhoji-Pop’,releases his new single “Laal Saree,” out now via Gully Gang Entertainment. The song found itsaudience long before it was out: earlier this year, when Nishant had barely built a following, a cypher clip of him performing it went viral, and for many listeners it became the first Nishant song they ever heard. With its official release, “Laal Saree” finally gets to be heard the way it was meant to be: in full, and on repeat. A Bhojpuri rap love song, “Laal Saree” is about falling hard for a girl from Patna in a red saree.Nishant is completely smitten, praising everything from her graceful walk and open hair to her red lips and bridal adornments, and claiming all of Patna has gone crazy over her. In the bridge, the pleads his case like a lovestruck boyfriend, promising no drama and no other girls, before landing a cheeky punchline about fathering her kids someday. Underneath the charm, the chorus keeps returning to one simple plea: promise you’ll never leave me. That quiet fear of losing her gives the song its heart.
The release comes at a turning point for Nishant. Since the clip, he has appeared on I-Popstar Season 2 and released ‘UP Wali Laiki’ and ‘Bombay Ki Rani’ back to back. UP Wali Laiki’ has crossed 170,000 Reels on Instagram, and Nishant has gained 120,000 followers since the episode aired. With “Laal Saree,” he now has three songs connecting with listeners in 2026, a sign that audiences are following the artist, not a single moment.
Nishant’s sound pairs Bhojpuri folk hooks with hip-hop production, with lyrics that are funny on the surface and sincere underneath. Over the last decade, Punjabi music grew from its folk roots into pop and hip-hop with a global audience. Bhojpuri has yet to have that moment, and its rap has largely been boxed in by the same tropes. With a younger audience now discovering and sharing his songs, Nishant is making a strong case that the shift has started.“Laal Saree” is out now on all major streaming platforms via Gully Gang Entertainment.
