Sep 11: Hungama OTT, one of India’s digital entertainment platforms, is all set to return with the fourth season of its popular series Hasratein, following the immense success of its previous three seasons. Continuing its exploration of the bold, intimate, and often unspoken aspects of women’s desires and lives, the new season brings six stories of women navigating love, relationships, societal pressures, and the courage to reclaim their lives on their own terms.
In the episode, Runaway Mother, Nisha Rawal takes on the role of Divya Mathur, a woman who, after spending three years running from an abusive husband, is forced to return to the home she left behind. As she begins living as Saumya, she must confront her past and rediscover the fearless woman she once was. The episode also stars Dhruv Chaudhary in a pivotal role.
Talking about what drew her to the story, Nisha shares,
“The earlier seasons of Hungama OTT’s Hasratein were quite a hit, so when I got the offer for the fourth season, and specifically for the ‘Runaway Mother’ episode, I got very excited after hearing the story. There was a lot to do in my character, and it was full of emotions. This is the first time I’m doing a web series in a lead role, so this is even more special for me.”
Speaking about her role, she adds,
“My character is Divya Mathur, but due to certain situations, she starts living as Saumya and ends up living an abusive life at home. I am a mother in real life too, so the emotions of a mother get attached to me automatically. The ‘Runaway Mother’ episode shows that you don’t need to live an abusive life. You have your own life, and it’s your responsibility to live it the right way. I hope this story gives every woman the courage and hope to live her life.”
