The Embassy of India in Belgrade, Serbia, is proud to present “Indian Classical Dance Evenings”, a special three-city cultural showcase featuring acclaimed Bharatanatyam artist Apeksha Niranjan from India.
Celebrating the timeless richness of Indian classical heritage, the performances will introduce Serbian audiences to the grace, rhythm, spirituality, and storytelling traditions of Bharatanatyam — one of India’s oldest and most revered classical dance forms.
Known for her expressive artistry and powerful stage presence, Apeksha Niranjan brings alive India’s cultural legacy through intricate movement vocabulary, emotive storytelling, and deeply rooted classical traditions. The showcase aims to strengthen cultural ties between India and Serbia through the universal language of art and performance.
The performances will take place across three cities: Zemun Municipal Ceremonial Hall, Zemun Sunday, 31 May 2026 | 5:00 PM Cultural Station Edšeg, Novi Sad Monday, 1 June 2026 | 7:00 PM Silosi Belgrade, Belgrade
The events are open to the public with free entry upon registration.
Organised by the Embassy of India in Belgrade, the initiative reflects India’s continued commitment to promoting cultural diplomacy and fostering artistic exchange internationally.
Speaking about the performances, Apeksha Niranjan says “Bharatanatyam is not just a dance form, but a spiritual and emotional expression deeply connected to Indian culture and philosophy. I am honoured to share this heritage with audiences in Serbia and create a cultural dialogue through art.”
The cultural series is supported by partners including Silosi, Gaia Porret, Maya Media, and Edšeg Kulturna Stanica.
