Gleneagles Hospital Chennai Launches Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) Centre at Sholinganallur

Chennai, June 12: Gleneagles Hospital, Chennai, (a part of the Fortis Healthcare Network Hospital), has launched its Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) Centre at its Sholinganallur facility, strengthening its advanced wound care capabilities for patients across the region.

The centre was inaugurated by Dr. Vijay Viswanathan, MD, PhD, FRCP, Head and Chief Physician, MV Diabetes – North & South Chennai and Bengaluru, in the presence of senior leadership and medical experts from Gleneagles Hospital and Fortis Healthcare.

With the growing burden of diabetes and chronic wound complications, the need for advanced wound care solutions has become increasingly important. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is an advanced treatment that delivers high-concentration oxygen under increased atmospheric pressure and is used in the management of chronic and non-healing wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, burns, radiation injuries and certain infections.

The HBOT Centre is equipped with the advanced Oxyeco MO-395 AUTO chamber, featuring a transparent chamber design with audiovisual support and adherence to internationally recognized ISO and ASME standards. The centre offers expert care for patients with chronic and complex wounds.
