Swiggy Dineout unveils Valentine’s Day trends: Mumbai customer splurges INR 130,155, Bengaluru, Delhi topped the charts

Feb 16: Swiggy, India’s pioneering on-demand convenience platform, revealed how India celebrated Valentine’s Day with grand romantic gestures, a strong preference for lively social settings, and a nationwide trend of spontaneous planning on its Dineout platform.

Metropolitan hubs such as Bengaluru, Delhi, and Hyderabad remained the epicenter with highest bookings in the country. A growing appetite for dining out was observed in emerging cities with Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Chandigarh recording maximum bookings. Bookings in cities like Surat (180%), Vadodara (155%) and Bhubaneswar (145.5%) recorded the highest growth as compared to the previous Saturday (February 7, 2026).

A customer from Mumbai redefined indulgence with a single bill of Rs 130,155- the highest in the country. Valentine’s Day is no longer just for duos, and a massive group of 30 diners in Mumbai celebrated the occasion together, marking the largest single group booking in the country. The platform observed the highest number of transactions between 10pm and 11pm.

As per Swiggy Dineout trends, high-energy social settings with Pubs, Bars and Lounges emerged as a clear choice of venue, commanding 30.6% of the bookings. Fine dining witnessed an explosive 121% growth compared to last year, signaling a growing preference towards premium, curated experiences during these special occasions. Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi led the bookings for fine dining experiences on Valentine’s Day.

Customers also enjoyed heavy savings through Swiggy Dineout’s offers and discounts. Together, India saved over Rs 6 Crore through Swiggy Dineout. A customer from Pune enjoyed 60% savings on their bill, while a customer in Bengaluru enjoyed a 50% discount.

Perhaps the most telling insight into modern lifestyle patterns was the trend of spontaneous planning. 66% of the bookings on February 14th, 2026 were made within two hours of the booking slots, underscoring Swiggy Dineout’s role in enabling a seamless, on-demand and convenient lifestyle.
