Manipal; 26 December 2024: Manipal Institute of Technology, MAHE Manipal, a leader in technical education since its foundation is proud to achieve yet another milestone with the official launch of MIT Manipal Alumni Association (MITMAA). The historic projects unite the generations of MIT graduates on a single lively stage to honour their common heritage and create enduring relationships.

A heartfelt greeting and invocation kicked off the event, creating a peaceful atmosphere for the momentous occasion. The ceremony commemorated MIT’s transformation into a worldwide renowned leader in technical education while reflecting on the institution’s rich history, which started as Manipal Engineering College under the visionary direction of Dr TMA Pai.

Esteemed dignitaries including Mr. Vinod Eswaran, MD & CEO, Jio Payments Bank as the Chief Guest; Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, Vice-Chancellor, MAHE, as the guest of honour and Cmdr (Dr.) Anil Rana, Director, MIT Manipal; Dr. Somashekara Bhat; Joint Director, MIT Manipal and Dr. Kanthi M, Associate Director, Alumni, Public, and International Relations took part in the auspicious occasion

 

 

Mr. Vinod Eswaran, MD & CEO, Jio Payments Bank, said, “As an alumnus of this prestigious university, I am incredibly thrilled to be present for the MIT Manipal Alumni Association’s founding. Numerous success stories, including mine, have been built on MIT and this project demonstrate resilience of our alumni group”.

Appraising the alumni team, Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, Vice-Chancellor, MAHE, said “A pivotal event that highlights the power of our alumni network and its vital role in furthering the institutions’ goal is the founding of MIT Manipal Alumni Association. The legacy of the institution is carried on by its alumni and MITMAA offers a forum for utilizing their combined knowledge and experience”.

Expressing his excitement and proud of the launch, Cmdr. (Dr) Anil Rana, Director, MIT Manipal, said, “A significant turning point in the history of this illustrious university is the founding of the MIT Manipal Alumni Association. It honours the timeless connection that unites us MITians across the boundaries and generations. In addition to fortifying our links, this project opens up countless possibilities for cooperation, development and creativity. We can continue to bud on MIT’s rich tradition as a cohesive alumni community and motivate upcoming generations to achieve even greater things”.

The executive committee of MITMAA, Mr Sahil Talwar, President, Ms Kasturi Das Talukdar, Vice-President, Mr Gajanan Pai, Secretory, Ms Ananya Dutta, Joint Secretory, Dr. Suhas Y Nayak, Treasurer, and Dr Akashatha K.R, Joint Treasurer where present for the inaugural program. The President and Vice President of MITMAA presented the organisation’s enduring ideas and mission, to the audience at the program. The president and other office bearers received praised for their commitment to empowering and bringing the alumni network together. The committee’s goal is to provide MITians around the world with a forum for deep connections and cooperative opportunities.

The unveiling of the MITMAA logo, a patent representation of solidarity, individuality and the shared goals of thousands of alumni was the event’s high point.

Dr Kanthi M, Associate Director of Alumni Relations, gave the vote of thanks as the ceremony came to an end, thanking everyone who helped make it a huge success. The essence of the day was captured in a group portrait that honoured this momentous milestone.

The institute has taken a big step toward “bridging generations, building legacies”, by launching MITMAA which aims to create a legacy of lasting relationships.
