Kannur: Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS Sreechand) has launched North Kerala’s first da Vinci Robotic Surgery System, marking a significant advancement in surgical care. The inauguration took place at Biennale International, with P.A. Muhammad Riyas, Minister for Public Works and Tourism, officiating the event. He commented that the introduction of robotic technology will propel the region’s healthcare sector forward.
The da Vinci system is designed for urology, gynecology, oncology, and thoracic surgeries. It offers several benefits over traditional surgery, including enhanced precision, smaller incisions, reduced pain, faster recovery, and superior 3D visualization, providing surgeons with greater control and smoother movement during procedures.
Robotic liver and renal transplant services are set to launch soon at the hospital.
