New Delhi, 4th October 2024: Mumbai-based ENTOD Pharmaceuticals has extended its support towards the formation of the All India Veterinary Ophthalmologists Group (AIVOG). This initiative, created in collaboration with leading veterinary ophthalmologists across India, aims to advance the practice of medical and surgical veterinary ophthalmology through dedicated academic programmes and surgical skills transfer workshops.

A recent webinar hosted by AIVOG on “Dry Eyes in Animal Companions” attracted over 500 veterinary professionals nationwide, including both veterinary ophthalmologists and general veterinarians with a keen interest in ophthalmology. The overwhelming participation shows the growing importance of veterinary eye health in India.

Mr. Nikkhil K Masurkar, CEO of ENTOD Pharmaceuticals, said, “Pet eye health is becoming an increasingly important focus for both veterinarians and pet owners in India. Certain breeds of dogs and cats are more susceptible to specific eye conditions due to genetic factors, anatomy, or breed-specific vulnerabilities. The response from veterinarians across the country underscores their commitment to enhancing their skills in veterinary ophthalmology. This academic initiative has the potential to significantly contribute to the overall well-being of our pets.”

Dr. Narendra Chouhan, Myra Pet Clinic & Surgery Centre, Indore, a leading veterinary ophthalmologist, added, “The formation of the AIVOG is a crucial step toward improving the standard of care for pet eye health in India. Through academic programmes and hands-on training, veterinarians will be better equipped to diagnose and manage complex eye conditions in animals, ultimately leading to better outcomes for our pets.”
