Delhi Art Society Hosts Exhibition and Catalogue Launch of “Samanvaya: Line · Colour · Form” at India International Centre

 

Mar 27: Delhi Art Society, in collaboration with the India International Centre, successfully hosted the art exhibition and catalogue launch of the group show Samanvaya: Line · Colour · Form – Dialogues in Contemporary Indian Art. The exhibition is curated by Jyoti A Kathpalia.

The catalogue was formally released by Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Hon’ble Minister of Culture and Tourism, Government of India, in the presence of renowned artist Rameshwar Broota.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister spoke about the importance of strengthening the ecosystem for contemporary art and sculpture in India. He said that more focused efforts are needed for Indian art to gain a strong position on the global stage.

He also appreciated Neeraj Gupta, President of Delhi Art Society, for his long-standing commitment to supporting artists and promoting serious contemporary art practices. Neeraj Gupta shared that the Society continues to bring meaningful and powerful artistic voices to the forefront.

Curator Jyoti A Kathpalia said, “This exhibition connects both the personal and the universal. Each artist has a unique style, but together they create a strong dialogue. This is the true spirit of Samanvaya.”

The exhibition features works by 25 senior and well-known artists from across India. It presents a wide range of contemporary art, including painting, printmaking, and sculpture. The artists come from diverse backgrounds and have made significant contributions to Indian art over the years.

Some of the participating artists include Aashima Mehrotra, Alka Jhamb, Anand Moy Banerji, Aniruddh Sagar, Anju Kaushik, Apoorva Garg, Avneet Chawla, Girish Urkude, Jagdish Chander, Kalicharan Gupta, Meena Deora, Mohan Shingane, Neeraj Gupta, Nivedita Pande, Prasanta Kalita, Prem Singh, Rachit Jain, Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Sanjoy Roy, Satish Sharma, Shashikala Singh, Shruti Binay, Shruti Chandra Gupta, Surinder K. Mishra, and Vandana Rakesh.

Among them, Aashima Mehrotra explores texture and abstraction, Shruti Chandra Gupta presents layered narratives, and Anju Kaushik expresses emotions through vibrant compositions.
