Auliʻi Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson joined stars, filmmakers and special guests tonight at the Lanikūhonua Cultural Institute in Kapolei, Hawaii for the world premiere of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Moana 2.” The presentation began with a special performance led by Tiana Nonosina Liufau, Kayla Faʻamaligi, and Polynesian creatives honoring the Pacific peoples, cultures, and traditions that gave voice to the heart of the Moana story. In attendance from the movie were members of the voice cast, including Auliʻi Cravalho (voice of Moana), Dwayne Johnson (voice of Maui), Hualālai Chung (voice of Moni), Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda (voice of Simea) and Gerald Faitala Ramsey (voice of Tautai Vasa). Joining them were directors Jason Hand, Dana Ledoux Miller and David G. Derrick Jr., producers Yvett Merino and Christina Chen and screenwriter/executive producer Jared Bush. Songwriters Abigail Barlow, Emily Bear and Opetaia Foa‘i, as well as composer Mark Mancina were also among the guests.

As the world’s largest wish granter for Make-A-Wish, Disney teamed up with Dwayne Johnson and Make-A-Wish to create an unforgettable experience for five wish kids and their families. Disney at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa hosted the families who were invited to visit the island as Johnson’s personal guests for the “Moana 2” premiere.
Additionally, Disney together with Starlight Children’s Foundation hosted a special event at Kapiʻolani Medical Center for Women & Children today with attendance from Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, and special surprises, including Moana-themed Starlight hospital gowns, toys, books and a mobile movie theater featuring complimentary Disney+ access. Patients at the hospital and four other pediatric places of care on Oʻahu will be among the first to watch “Moana 2” ahead of its Nov. 27 theatrical release through the Disney Movie Moments program.
