Bengaluru, August 27, 2024: The Rajasthan Youth Association (RYA) Bengaluru, a charitable trust formed for service to society set up RYA tech Centres with Computer in 8 colleges, gave 250 student scholarships, 100 podiums for 15 colleges, Clean Water infra in 7 Colleges (RO filters) and 800 chairs to mark their 50 years of formation. This infrastructure benefits 25 government colleges across Bengaluru’s urban and rural areas.
RYA also donated 2500 sets of textbooks and notebooks as part of their Book Bank initiative to thousands of government college students at the Palace grounds today. Over 1000 students had gathered at the venue from over 30 government colleges across Bengaluru and a few nearby towns like Chikballapur, Hosakote, Bidadi, Goribidanur, Bangarpet and others.
Over the last few decades, approximately 3000 students have benefited yearly with Scholarships. Over 1.5 lakh students are beneficiaries of the RYA Book Bank project.
“A group of our founding members observed that their fellow students did not have access to textbooks. An idea was formed to procure a small set of books to be provided to needy students. The brilliance and simplicity of the idea was that it would be circulated the following year to the next batch. The first batch of 51 books was donated by Padmashri Mohanmullji Chordia for the commencement of the RYA Book Bank.”
“RYA Book Bank was extended to ensure that Educational, health, School Infrastructure and Sports needs of school were met for all round development of students” apprised Mr. Rajesh Shah, Chairman of the RYA Educational and Public Services Trust, Bengaluru.
New RYA Block at SLN College of Arts and Commerce in the heart of Bengaluru city:
“RYA Bengaluru is continuously extending support to students. In that spirit, we will be spending around ₹3.25 crore to build a modern, four-story structure with a total area of approximately 16,000 square feet at SLN College of Arts & Commerce in Kalasipalyam. This flagship project in our 50th year will be a new building of 11 classrooms and toilet blocks. The third floor will house facilities for skill development, vocational training and coaching of students, facilities for training towards women empowerment and infrastructure for the charitable and educational efforts of RYA,” apprised Mr Sanjay Lunkad, President of the Rajasthan Youth Association (RYA) Bengaluru.
The Golden Jubilee celebrations of RYA at the Palace grounds were inaugurated by Dr C N Manjunath, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha and the Guest of Honour was Mr Padamji Khincha, Eminent CA and Academician. On the occasion, the RYA Bengaluru also felicitated other 2 Guests of Honour, Mr Mohanlalji Ranka, President, Sri Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital and Dr Narpatji Solanki, Ophthalmologist and Philanthropist for their contribution to social causes.
