The DPS RN Extension hosted The DPS Football Tournament -2024 for Boys and kicked it off with a wonderful opening ceremony, marking the beginning of three days of intense football action. The event, held for three days, brought together young athletes from twenty-four Delhi Public Schools from across Delhi and NCR, uniting them in the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork.

The opening ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Mrs. Dolly Chanana, Joint Director of the DPS Society, who hoisted the school flag to symbolise unity and the power of sport. She was warmly welcomed by Mrs. Pallavi Upadhyaya, Principal of DPS RN Extension, who expressed her elation about hosting the prestigious tournament. Several esteemed guests, including Mr. Dheeraj Sharma, Assistant Director of HLM College and Mr. Abhishek Bansal, Member, Board of Management, DPS RN Extension, were present to witness the momentous start of the tournament.

The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp followed by a soulful choir performance. A yoga presentation by the students highlighted the synergy between mind and body. The Sports Captain of DPS RN Extension, Atishubh Kumar Murti, led the athletes in a solemn oath-taking ceremony, where participants pledged their commitment to fair play, integrity and teamwork.

The Chief Guest, Mrs. Dolly Chanana, officially declared the tournament open, setting a positive tone for the upcoming matches. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as teams from various DPS schools prepared to compete.

The tournament concluded with a grand closing ceremony, announcing DPS Vasant Kunj as the Winner, followed by DPS Sector-45, Gurgaon as the first Runner-Up and DPS Mathura Road as the second Runner-Up. The event not only celebrated the competitive spirit of football but also the values of teamwork and excellence in sports.
