Shemaroo Umang’s newly launched show ‘Main Dil Tum Dhadkan’ has captivated audiences with its engaging storyline, featuring Radhika Muthukumar, Zohaib Siddiqui, and Neelu Waghela in pivotal roles. In this show, Neelu takes on the complex character of Rajeshwari Devi, marking a significant transition from her iconic portrayal of Bhabho.
Reflecting on this change, Neelu shares, “I loved playing Bhabho for many years. Now, with my new character, Rajeshwari Devi, I’m excited to show a different side of myself.” Rajeshwari Devi is a character who is very traditional and often struggles to understand the modern world around her. She views life through a traditional lens. While the world has moved forward, Rajeshwari sticks to her outdated beliefs, which makes it hard for her to accept the changes happening around her.
Describing Rajeshwari as a character, Neelu says, “She isn’t evil; she has a good heart. But her old beliefs and past experiences have made her reluctant to accept things like widow remarriage or how roles of women have evolved in society. She operates from a place of strong morals that guide her decisions. This complexity makes the role exciting for me because I get to play a character with both strengths and challenges. I think this character will connect with the audience, and I promise they will love Rajeshwari as much, or even more than Bhabho.”
