Kanpur, Mar 21: Paras Health Kanpur has successfully treated a patient suffering from recurrent episodes of sudden abnormal heartbeats using advanced Electrophysiology Study (EPS) and Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), a specialised procedure that helps doctors identify abnormal electrical signals in the heart and eliminate them to restore a normal rhythm. The procedure was performed by the hospital’s cardiology team led by Dr. Sripad Vasant Khairnar, Consultant – Cardiology, helping stabilise the patient’s heart rhythm. The patient, Mrs. Prema Devi, had been experiencing repeated episodes of rapid heartbeat and was treated successfully at the hospital.
The condition became serious when the patient began experiencing sudden episodes where the heart rate would increase from a normal level of around 70 beats per minute to nearly 200 beats per minute, leading to palpitations, dizziness, and discomfort.
